Using the Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit

Do you own a commercial, apartment rental, or otherwise income-producing historic building that you’ve been thinking about renovating?  Do you know of a historic building in your community that could be rehabilitated for an income-producing use?  Join DHR staff during virtual “Office Hours” on June 3, 2022 at noon to learn about the Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program.

The Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program allows owners of income-producing historic buildings to take a federal income tax credit equal to 20% of the rehabilitation costs for work approved by the National Park Service.  The DHR works closely with applicants and the National Park Service on this tax incentive program.  Join DHR staff to learn more about this program, see some example projects from New Hampshire, and ask questions to see if a project you have in mind might qualify.
