The wood-framed bowsaw resembles a bow in shape with the blade located where the bowstring would be. Historically, the bowsaw is one of the oldest styles of saws used in ancient China and the Hellenistic period. Its narrow thin blade, with handles that turn in the frame, make it especially useful for cutting curves and fretwork. In this workshop, students will make a turning bowsaw with hand tools. Prior basic woodworking experience is required to participate.
This Sanborn Mills Farm workshop is offered in partnership with the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance.
