Please join Collection Manager Nicole Chalfant and Objects Conservator Michaela Neiro for a look at Historic New England’s wallpaper collection and our philosophy and practices for preserving and conserving it at our historic house museums. This virtual talk explores one of the largest and best-documented historic wallpaper collections in the country, provides an overview of printing techniques, discusses restoration techniques, and gives a behind-the-scenes peek at the current project to reproduce and rehang the important “Pillar and Arch” wallpaper at Hamilton House in South Berwick, Maine.

Proceeds from this program go toward the wallpaper restoration project at Hamilton House.
