Historic Preservation Matching  Grant Opportunity for Non-Profit Organizations Announced By The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation

The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation have announced that 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000 will be made available for historic preservation projects. To be eligible, organizations must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation.

Eligible projects include: exterior painting, finishes and surface restoration; upgrades to/installation of fire detection; lightning protection and security systems; repairs to/restoration of porches, roofs and windows; structural foundation and sill repair/replacement and chimney and masonry repointing.

The information for submitting a letter of intent (LOI), the first stage in the application process, is here. December 1, 2021 is the LOI deadline. Email admin@nhpreservation.org with “1772 Foundation” in the subject line if you have questions.

Past grants have supported 26 rehabilitation and restoration projects for a variety of community landmark buildings throughout the state. Here’s some information on past winners here.
