Historic Preservation Matching Grant Opportunity for Non-Profit Organizations Announced By The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation have announced that 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000 will be made available for historic preservation projects. To be eligible, organizations must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation.
Eligible projects include: exterior painting, finishes and surface restoration; upgrades to/installation of fire detection; lightning protection and security systems; repairs to/restoration of porches, roofs and windows; structural foundation and sill repair/replacement and chimney and masonry repointing.

Last year was the first of the partnership between the two organizations, and grant award winners included 13 rehabilitation and restoration projects in all regions of the state: the Gale School in Belmont, Kimball Jenkins in Concord, Centennial Hall in North Hampton, the Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden in Portsmouth, and Star Island Corporation at the Isles of Shoals, Rye, the Belknap Mill in Laconia, Lord’s Hill Meeting House in Effingham and the Tamworth History Center in Tamworth, Mt. Caesar Union Library in Swanzey, the Richards Free Library in Newport, Grafton Center Meetinghouse, the Wentworth-Brown House in Haverhill and Marion Blodgett Museum of the Coos Historical Society in Stratford Hollow.
