COVID-19 message from our executive director, Jennifer Goodman
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance’s commitment to strengthening communities and stimulating local economies by encouraging the protection and revival of historic buildings and places feels more important than ever. Please continue to be in touch with us: we want to help you succeed – whether it’s a spring fix-it project at home or town vote for an endangered community landmark. We’re seeing interest grow in conversations with people like you across New Hampshire with farm and barn projects, interest in easements, neighborhood heritage areas and other tools, and much more. Please send me an email to jg@nhpreservation.org with any questions or suggestions.
March 13: We are announcing today that we are postponing our March 21-22, 2020 Old House & Barn Expo. After careful consideration of the rapidly-changing conditions in New Hampshire and the region relative to the COVID-19 Virus and our March 21-22, 2020 event, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to postpone the Expo until later in the year. We considered recommendations from the WHO, CDC and NH Health and Human Services about large gatherings as well as the specific features of our show in our decision-making. At the Preservation Alliance, we love our ability to bring people together, connect experts to new audiences, and provide valuable information and inspiration, and we are very disappointed about the need to change our plans. However, the health and well-being of our Expo attendees, exhibitors, volunteers and presenters is very important to us. We are announcing this decision today to allow people to adapt and change their plans. If you are a ticket holder, please contact Rebecca Howland at rh@nhpreservation.org.
I welcome any questions or suggestions about the Expo, which we hope to hold as soon as possible, and other Preservation Alliance programs and priorities. Especially in challenging times, we so appreciate the financial and moral support of our members, colleagues and friends. Please consider a special investment in our programs.

More on the Expo: The show offers a tremendous opportunity to connect New Hampshire’s experts in old building trades and traditional crafts to new audiences. It generates revenues for the Preservation Alliance to meet a growing demand for services from people all over the state; generates contacts and business for our vendors; and helps expand awareness and understanding of preservation strategies and benefits in the Granite State.
