Preservation Resources for Houses, Barns, Commercial and Publicly-owned Properties

Overview

These resource pages are divided into categories by type of property. There are lots of pages and links to help you learn more and get answers to your questions.

In addition to these pages, we offer workshops, tours and lectures throughout the year.   We are always happy to provide a customized presentation for groups or community-based projects.   Our Old House & Barn Expo and statewide Preserving Community Character Conference take place in the spring in alternating years.  See the calendar of events section for more details about these offerings.

Our Field Service Program can provide one-on-one assistance with specific properties or questions.   We are available in-person, by phone or email to guide you to the appropriate consultants and contractors, furnish information about grants and fundraising, and share examples of similar successes or best-practice models to help you move forward with the right tools and techniques to complete your project.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Our Book List provides a wide variety of resources ranging from the "how-to" of window repair and stone walls construction to books on barns, sheds, NH architecture, agricultural history and our handbook on CD for heritage and historic district commissions and other community preservation leaders.
